About

About BE Designwork

BE Designwork was built on a straightforward premise: good product engineering requires industrial design and mechanical engineering to work together — not in separate lanes, not in sequence, but as a single discipline from the first sketch to the last production sign-off.

Too many products reach manufacturing with fundamental problems that were locked in at the concept stage. We structured our practice to catch those problems earlier, when they are still cheap to fix.

We work with hardware startups, OEMs, and product development teams building things for demanding environments. Our clients aren't looking for decorative design — they need products that perform reliably, survive the conditions they'll actually face, and can be built at a cost that makes the business work. That's what we focus on.

Founded in 2019 and based in Brussels, our team of six — industrial designers, mechanical engineers, CAD specialists, and production engineers — works as a single unit from concept through production.

Approach

How we think about the work.

Engineering drives design

Every form decision has a functional reason. We don't separate aesthetics from engineering — both disciplines are active from day one.

Manufacturing is not an afterthought

DFM is embedded in our process, not bolted on at the end. We make manufacturing decisions while they are still design decisions.

Iterate in physical reality

Simulation and CAD are indispensable, but physical prototypes reveal what models miss. We build early and often.

Document everything

A design that can't be clearly communicated to a supplier or toolmaker isn't finished. We deliver complete, production-ready packages.

Capabilities

Tools and methods.

CAD & 3D Modeling

Parametric solid and surface modeling, assembly modeling on major professional CAD platforms, and production drawing packages with GD&T.

Analysis & Simulation

Finite element analysis (FEA) for structural and thermal loading, tolerance stack-up analysis, and validation against requirements.

Rapid Prototyping

FDM, SLA, and SLS additive processes; CNC machining; sheet metal and fabricated assemblies; bridge / soft tooling for molded parts.

Materials & Processes

Injection molding, die casting, sheet metal fabrication, compression and thermoset molding, CNC machining, extrusion, finishing and coating.

Supplier & Tooling

RFQ and supplier qualification support, tooling review and oversight, first article inspection coordination, and pilot run support.

End-to-End Delivery

One team from concept through production — no handoffs to strangers, no loss of intent between phases.
